The Energy Coaching Institute is starting a new September 2026 cohort of its Somatic Energy Coach Certification, a professional training that brings coaching skills together with embodiment, energy awareness and systemic approaches.
The program is aimed at several groups, including certified coaches who want to add body based work to their practice, aspiring coaches entering the field and holistic practitioners who want a more formal coaching framework around work they already offer.
Coaching meets somatic and systemic work
The institute describes the training as a meeting point between professional coaching, the body and what it calls the field and systems people carry. Its positioning reflects a wider development in independent coach education, where somatic awareness is increasingly being taught alongside more conventional coaching structures.
For existing practitioners, the course is designed around integration rather than replacement of their current modality. The school specifically addresses body workers, energy practitioners and other professionals who want to add coaching skills and clearer ethical standards to their work.
A hybrid professional identity
The emergence of titles such as somatic energy coach also shows how practitioner roles are becoming more specialised. Instead of choosing between a conventional coaching identity and a holistic practice identity, some training providers are now building certifications around the overlap.
That makes the September cohort relevant beyond the individual program itself. It offers another example of how smaller training organisations are formalising blended approaches that already exist in many independent practices.
