Inner Forest School Opens 2026 Nature Meditation Teacher Certification Cohort

Inner Forest School opens enrollment for its 2026 Nature Meditation Teacher Certification, combining self-paced study, live training and practical teaching experience.

Inner Forest School has opened enrollment for its 2026 Nature Meditation Teacher Certification, a four-month hybrid training designed for practitioners who want to guide nature-based meditation both outdoors and in everyday indoor or online settings.

The program is led by Inner Forest School founder Gillian Florence Sanger, a meditation teacher, writer and Certified Depth Hypnotherapist whose work focuses on the relationship between inner awareness and the natural world. Rather than treating nature meditation as a practice that depends on access to forests or remote landscapes, the training teaches participants to work with breath, metaphor, seasons, natural elements and ecological awareness in settings ranging from individual sessions and video calls to studios and outdoor groups.

Course materials became available on September 1, with the first live online session scheduled for September 12. The training combines self-paced material with four live sessions held across four months, including workshops on teaching confidence, audience development and clarifying a professional vision. Participants must attend at least one live session and complete practical assignments before receiving certification.

The curriculum includes 29 nature meditation scripts licensed for professional use, ecological principles that can be incorporated into meditation teaching, personal practice work and opportunities to lead sessions for others. Certification requirements include a log of 20 personal nature meditations, three facilitated practices and submission of a recorded nature meditation. The school estimates approximately 30 hours of study and practice are required to complete the program.

The certification has been assessed and accredited by the International Mindfulness and Meditation Alliance. It is open both to experienced wellness professionals and to people entering facilitation or meditation teaching for the first time. Enrollment for the current cohort closes September 10.
