Elemental Soma practitioner and Reiki Master Terra Black has joined DEN Meditation’s teaching community with The Soma Pause, a new weekly 20-minute virtual practice designed as a short-form introduction to her Elemental Soma work.
The first session took place on September 15, 2026, with the practice scheduled to continue weekly on Tuesdays through DEN’s virtual community. DEN Meditation also lists The Soma Pause among its new September virtual classes.
A shorter format for somatic practice
Black developed The Soma Pause after conversations with DEN about creating a practice that could fit into the rhythm of a regular week rather than functioning as a longer workshop or training. Before the class was added to the schedule, she led a private test session for DEN’s founders.
Each session draws from Black’s Elemental Soma framework and combines breath, somatic awareness, Reiki, sound and stillness. The practice rotates through five themes she calls the Soma Bodies: EarthBody, WaterBody, BreathBody, LightBody and FieldBody.
The sessions also use Black’s A.W.E. method — Anchor, Witness, Express — as a simple structure for bringing attention back to bodily sensation, noticing what is present and allowing some form of integration or expression.
Live sessions and on-demand access
The Soma Pause is offered live through DEN Meditation and is also being added to its on-demand library. No previous experience with meditation, Reiki or somatic practice is required, according to Black’s programme information.
Black describes the new format less as a class built around achieving a particular state and more as a brief opportunity to notice the body and interrupt the momentum of the day. The collaboration gives her original Elemental Soma framework a recurring home inside an established meditation platform while keeping the format deliberately short.
