Shai Tubali and Tamar Brosh Open Nine-Month School of Consciousness

Shai Tubali and Tamar Brosh are opening a nine-month live online School of Consciousness combining meditation, philosophy, neuroscience and mystical traditions.

Philosopher and consciousness researcher Shai Tubali and transformational practitioner Tamar Brosh are opening a new nine-month School of Consciousness on October 30. The live online training will run across nine monthly weekends through June 2027, bringing meditation and subtle-body practice into conversation with philosophy, neuroscience and mystical traditions.

The school is organized around a question that has become more visible with the rise of artificial intelligence: what distinguishes intelligence from conscious experience? Rather than treating that only as an academic debate, Tubali and Brosh have built the program around both conceptual study and direct contemplative practice.

Nine weekends build one continuous inquiry

The curriculum begins with the nature of consciousness itself before moving into consciousness, intelligence and AI. Later weekends examine reflective self-consciousness, mystical traditions, subtle layers of consciousness, identity and selfhood, the capacities associated with trained awareness, expanded states and the practical implications of conscious living.

Each monthly weekend combines teaching, dialogue and guided practice. Participants also receive three additional live question-and-answer sessions, a library of guided practices, reading materials and access to recordings through an online campus. The program recommends regular practice between weekends but does not require previous meditation experience.

Contemplative practice meets interdisciplinary study

Tubali holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds and has spent more than three decades exploring consciousness through scholarship and contemplative work. His teaching in the school includes the Expansion Method, classical meditation and philosophical inquiry. Brosh brings more than twenty years of work in healing and development, along with a master’s degree in applied positive psychology and coaching. Her role emphasizes the experiential and integrative side of the training.

The school’s structure deliberately avoids choosing between a scientific or spiritual framing. Neuroscience and philosophy provide conceptual maps, while meditation, subtle-body work and guided awareness practices are used to explore the subject experientially. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with the first training weekend scheduled for October 30 through November 1.

For the wider personal-growth field, the program is an example of a different response to AI than simply adding new technology to existing education. It uses the current debate around artificial intelligence as the starting point for a long-form investigation into attention, awareness, identity and what participants can examine directly in their own experience.
