Spiritual educator and ritualist Tahverlee Anglen has published Sacred Magic of the East: Rituals, Spells, and Songs of Air, a new paperback from Llewellyn Worldwide. The October 2026 publication is the second volume in her Sacred Magic series. Across 248 pages, it brings together storytelling, spells and more than fifty hands-on practices built around the element of air, with particular attention to breath, words, beliefs and personal expression.
Air is the organizing principle of this volume. In Anglen’s magical framework, it represents more than a physical element: it is associated with thought, communication, intuition and the possibility of beginning again. The book invites readers to examine the stories they repeatedly tell themselves and consider how those stories influence their choices, relationships and spiritual practice.
The exercises combine familiar ritual activities with reflective work. Readers are introduced to ways of working with spoken intention, breathing, incense and personal ceremony, alongside questions about beliefs that may no longer serve them. Anglen places these activities within a contemporary witchcraft practice rather than presenting them as medical or psychological treatments.
One of the book’s recurring themes is the relationship between language and self-understanding. A belief can become so familiar that it feels like an unquestionable fact. Through writing, ritual and conscious attention to words, the practices encourage readers to notice such assumptions and experiment with a different relationship to them.
Anglen also uses personal stories to give the rituals a lived context. Instead of limiting the material to a catalogue of magical tools or ceremonial instructions, she connects the practices with ordinary moments when people feel uncertain, constrained or ready for change. The result is a guide intended for readers who want to develop an individual approach to magical practice.
Anglen leads the Moon Temple Mystery School and works with witchcraft, spiritual empowerment and ritual education. Her Sacred Magic series uses elemental themes as a way to organize different dimensions of inner work. The new volume concentrates on air, leaving readers with a distinct set of exercises rather than a general introduction to every magical tradition.
The book is aimed at people already interested in contemporary spirituality as well as those looking for practical entry points into ritual. Its emphasis is on participation: choosing a practice, paying attention to the experience and returning to it as personal understanding develops. The spiritual meanings of the exercises belong to Anglen’s teaching approach and are not presented as established scientific effects.
Sacred Magic of the East is published as an English-language trade paperback by Llewellyn. Its October release adds a practice-focused title to the growing selection of books that combine modern personal reflection with contemporary magical and elemental traditions.
