Healing House Opens Porto Studio Around Sound, Movement and Community Rest

Parina Andreeva’s Healing House opens in Porto with sound, movement, maternal wellbeing programs and an intentionally unhurried class format.

Healing House is marking the opening of its Porto wellness studio with a September 26 candlelight yoga and sound bath, introducing a permanent home for a community that began in founder Parina Andreeva’s living room. Located at Largo Alexandre Sá Pinto, the center brings sound, movement and quieter forms of gathering into a garden setting in the center of the city.

Three paths through the program

The weekly schedule is organized into three broad paths. The Body Path includes yoga, core and flexibility work, mindful movement, dance and theater. The Vibrational Path brings together sound healing and Reiki, while the Mamas Path includes prenatal and postpartum yoga alongside support circles addressing themes such as psychology, pelvic health, housing and schools.

Andreeva leads the studio as a sound and Reiki practitioner, with Alejandra Ayerbe overseeing yoga and wellness events. The wider team includes movement teachers, sound practitioners, a mindful wellness coach, a mindfulness facilitator and musicians working with kirtan. That range allows the space to host regular practices as well as workshops, retreats and collaborative events.

More time around each practice

Healing House has designed its standard sessions to last 60 minutes, followed by a tea ritual and 20 minutes with no scheduled instruction. The added time is meant for participants to settle rather than move immediately from practice back into the pace of the day. Mats and water are provided, keeping the arrival process simple for both Porto residents and visitors.

The studio is also introducing weekly co-resting hours. These are unguided periods in which people can sit in the garden, drink tea, meditate, nap or have a quiet conversation without a formal agenda. This element extends the center’s community role beyond classes and creates a setting where rest itself can be the reason to attend.

A launch built around an existing community

Andreeva first formed Healing House through small gatherings for mothers and refugees. The new venue gives that work a more stable structure while preserving its focus on belonging. Its September launch event combines gentle yoga led by Ayerbe, a sound bath using crystal bowls and voice, and a closing tea ritual with a local partner.

Monthly signature experiences will include candlelight yoga and sound bath sessions, as well as a 90-minute gong and voice journey using ten gongs, crystal singing bowls and live voice. For independent practitioners, the opening offers a clear example of how a studio can organize varied modalities around a consistent rhythm: practice, transition, tea and time to remain.
