Sāmya Studios Opens Second London Home in Hackney

Sāmya Studios has opened a second London location in Hackney, expanding its neighbourhood model of yoga, Pilates, breathwork, qigong and community care.

Sāmya Studios has opened its second London location in Hackney, extending a neighbourhood wellness model that began at its original Islington studio. The new space opened on October 3, 2026, at the Textile Building on Chatham Place in Hackney Central.

The expansion gives Sāmya two independently run neighbourhood studios built around yoga, Pilates, breathwork, qigong and community activity. The Hackney opening follows the same underlying philosophy as Islington: creating a place where movement and mindfulness sit alongside rest, social connection and a slower pace of city life.

A broader movement timetable

Sāmya’s class mix crosses several disciplines rather than organising the studio around a single practice. Vinyasa and Slow Flow sit alongside Dynamic Pilates, Yin, Power and Breathe + Flow, a format that combines movement with pranayama and active breathwork. Qigong and other community-oriented sessions extend the programme further.

The new Hackney location also includes a therapy room and can be hired outside the regular timetable for workshops and gatherings. That makes the space more than a class venue and gives independent practitioners another setting for smaller events and one-to-one work.

The opening weekend itself reflected that community focus. Alongside movement classes, Sāmya planned a studio blessing, massage tasters and a Sunday social, giving local residents a chance to explore the space before settling into the regular schedule.

Growing without abandoning the neighbourhood model

For a small wellness business, opening a second site can easily shift the emphasis toward scale. Sāmya is taking a different route by describing both locations as neighbourhood studios, with the same emphasis on belonging and accessibility rather than positioning Hackney as a larger flagship.

The studio’s existing Islington community remains part of the wider network, and memberships can provide access across both locations. The new site therefore expands geographic reach while keeping the business centred on relatively intimate physical spaces.

Sāmya Studios was established in London in 2023. Its Hackney opening marks the first expansion beyond Cobble Lane and gives the company a second base for its combination of movement, breathwork, mindfulness and community programming.
