Jessamyn Stanley’s yoga platform The Underbelly has added Midweek Restoration, a 15-minute supported practice intended for moments when people need to slow down before reaching the weekend. Released as part of the platform’s October 2026 programme, the class is a compact addition to its library of accessible yoga sessions.
Rather than centring effort or flexibility, the new practice uses supported forward folds, bound-angle poses, reclined stretches and extended rest, finishing with a seated meditation. The class description recommends two blocks, a bolster or blanket, and a strap. Props make it possible to support the body in positions that would otherwise require more effort to maintain, although comfort and suitability will vary between individuals.
The timing is an important part of the concept. Many restorative routines are treated as weekend activities or something to attempt only after a demanding period ends. The Underbelly frames its new class as a brief opportunity to interrupt that rhythm during the working week, when tension and fatigue may already be accumulating.
Stanley announced the October programme through her own newsletter, which also describes a broader focus on shadow work and a tarot-inspired sequence of yoga practices. That wider programme gives context to Midweek Restoration, but the newly released class stands on its own as a lasting on-demand addition rather than a single scheduled event.
The Underbelly’s approach also makes an editorial distinction that is easy to overlook in wellness coverage. Rest does not always need to be packaged as a demanding personal-improvement project. A short guided class can instead offer a defined period for quiet movement and attention, with no requirement that participants pursue a particular achievement.
The source materials describe the poses and the intended experience, not a clinical trial of the class. It would therefore be misleading to claim that this particular session has been shown to treat anxiety, pain or burnout. Its value to readers is more practical: it offers a concrete format for making room for restorative movement in an otherwise ordinary week.
Midweek Restoration joins The Underbelly’s broader on-demand collection, which includes beginner-friendly meditation, gentle movement and classes designed for different energy levels. The new session is available through the platform’s class library.
